Iris doesn't live here anymore

The gardens were done by Cecil Pinsent (1884 - 1963), the Edwardian garden designer who also created the gardens at Bernard Berenson's villa I Tatti.

A sublime wordsmith, Iris Origo, once described her existence as alternating "between caviar and bread and milk." Adore her.

The Marchesa may have vacated the premises but you're back in the neighborhood. How wondrous is that! You've been missed.
