Manor House at Clifton Hampden
On the market for the second time ever since its construction in 1846, a fine manor house on the river Thames with outstanding views. 5 reception rooms, up to 12 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms. 2 flats, one cottage, outbuildings, two boathouses, nearly 1000m of Thames frontage (two banks) 29.5 acres.
Looks as if the nice Danish couple who bought the house from Christopher Gibbs are selling up after completing a thorough restoration.
Restoration. Interior desecration. Potato. Potato.

My heart skipped a beat when looking at the exterior...so very beautiful!
The interior renovation seems VERY thorough. I am a little sad it looks so new....like a newly built house. Very pretty, but it seems to have lost a bit of it's soul.
Now I'm depressed.
You came back whilst I was away. How nice!
Why buy only to flip?
I'll take that! In a heartbeat.
They've done a brilliant job of stripping away all traces of character and charm, haven't they? But then again,
Christopher Gibbs was a tough act to follow...
Oh, that kitchen is, oh, that is an abomination.
Hostess - thank you, I thought it was just me! The sheer ordinariness of the interior causes me to vacillate between ennui and rage.
I'm enjoying your way with words!
