A large shallow glass cylinder lined with moss and planted with fritillaria (at least a dozen or so) makes for a very smart arrangement.

Do you use any potting soil at all, or just moss? I've never done anything with fritillaria because they seemed so fussy, but that would really be a great arrangement in that container.
You have been on a roll with a series of gorgeous posts. But I confess, I had to stop and listen to the ILGWU song and sing along. I am a union maid at heart!
And you've made it even harder for me to wait for Spring and my Frits to bloom. I am already planning that combo with Epimediums.
Mamacita - I buy the fritillaries in bloom (they come in small plastic pots). I then place them in the vase - pots and all - and camouflage with the moss. As I did with the paper whites in the clamshell. Very easy and they last longer.
Ms. W - thanks. I often find myself humming it. Words to live by - maybe things wouldn't be the way they are now if people hadn't disregarded the philosophy.
