'tis best not to pick up the baby in the first place...
Well, it seems to be official. I have stopped smoking. Not through design or desire, it just happened. Just when I had found the perfect Orrefors ashtray, too. Damn.
For the moment, all I can liken it to is the difference between using a telescopic rifle, and using a sawn-off shotgun.
With a cigarette, it was ready, aim, and fire. Kill shot.
Without a cigarette, all those words swirling in the ether are given life rapidly, rabidly, and indiscriminately. Carnage.
Anyone want to make book on an early Glorious Twelfth?

Bravo! The up side is you will be able to taste food again, and when you visit California, you will fit right in at the bars. No worries.
Good for you. I quit a very long time ago and am so glad I'm not paying the price of a pack today, not standing outside in the rain and snow..I was a heavy smoker, I couldn't sit thru a movie without a cigarette. Now as for those ashtrays. You know those single useless saucers (like Wedgewood) that are
found in thrift stores and flea markets? If a guest needs an ashtray..they are handed a beautiful saucer and allowed to smoke.
Good on ya! Keep it up.
Yay! Coming from California, where it isn't legal to smoke ANYWHERE anymore, to NC has been hard since smoking is like the mandated state pastime here. Just think of all the money you'll save. You can buy lots of stuff on Etsy now.
LCF - don't know if you can imagine this, but I am more impatient now than before. Especially with people.;-o
Good Luck HOBAC, with your indomitable will, I know you will emerge victorious.
MORE impatient? I have to come watch this show! Mwa! I'll have to remember to wear my flip-flops too...just to see if I can gently push you over that edge. ;)
