Shug was right about the colour purple.
There will be Iris Garden Grace,
and Iris Violet Reprise bordering our pond.
And, this year, there will be a wildflower meadow with purple Cosmos behind said pond.

I "planted" a ton of cosmos seeds this spring. I love the colours.
fairfax - have tried that, but I think the birds must be eating the seed. This year I am going to have the area planted with plug plants.
I love cosmos so much ... the first time I ever saw them was at a friend's château in France, enormously tall sheaves of them stuffed into tottering vases that were then wired to the wall behind to keep them from falling onto the Aubusson ... the effect was magical and countrified and very, very chic ...
AL - what a wonderful image.
Note to self: must find new friends...
LOL ...
House... I will let you know how they work out.
I love Cosmos too. I used Chocolate Cosmos in my wedding bouquet. Why don't more people plant Iris in their gardens? They're such a beautiful flower.
PoC - I don't know. They are so easy to grow. I once chose an apartment because there were huge clumps growing in the front; the setting was very Agatha Christie.
Ha ha! After I read that comment from An Aesthete's Lament I had the same thought you did HOBAC - I need new friends. I'm not greedy either, all I need is ONE new friend...who owns a chateau. ;)
LC - even if it is crumbling, I won't mind.
Shug was right about the colour purple.
- HOBC
love it ; )
