I'd rather have...

Karin Calloway Buffet.

Satan himself over for dinner than invite friends over to watch a football game. Sorry, I meant the Super Bowl. A friend in New York (the one missing some of the more important gay genes) who loves spectator sports asked what would I do for this particular type of party (I typed it once, once was enough). Given the location, what could be better than pizza, buffalo wings, beer, Mississippi mud pie, and maybe a Boston Cream pie just for good measure?

I'd rather have a 'super BOWL' party where everyone brings in their favorite physical bowl with their favorite dish inside! Screw football, if I wanted to see men in tights I'd go to the ballet

BtC - would you believe, he actually goes to basketball games as well? Pulease!

I guess at least in basketball it's indoors and the uniforms are more revealing. Plus you're closer to the hot sweaty mens.....if I had to come up with something positive. How unfortunate though! How is this a friend you have things in common with? haha

BtC - I know! But how could one not adore someone who once described them self as, " a big black ol' woman trapped inside of gay Jewish man" ?

Oh, I so needed a laugh...and your opening sentence!! If you ask me I much prefer the 'Met' over the Mets any day!

GMG - the truth is not only liberating, it can also be funny! I too love the Met - unfortunately I am unfamiliar with that other opera house...Aaahhha!

Oh, HOBAC, do you have any non-U pastimes you would acknowledge? Just curious.

mamacit - bowling, it's a giggle!

Stick to your guns HOBAC. Mrs. E. and I have had to turn down an invite, twice. People just don't believe that I have little to no interest in sports. As a former ad guy, the commercials are interesting, but really, given that kind of budget they'd better be. If you get stuck, turn down the sound and turn up some Wagner. For appetizers I would serve tournedos wrapped in bacon on a skewer, mini crab cakes on rolls and deep-fried, "riced" sweet potato things.

EaEL - to the consternation of many, I never get stuck.
That sounds delicious, though.

Hooray! I wish I had your talent.

(For guys, you just can't go wrong with meat on a stick.)

I have no friends interested in football so I'm never invited to such parties (luckily) BUT if I was I would probably go...for the free food...I would eat and then suddenly remember an "appointment" and leave before the game! Ha ha!

SS - shame! Haahhaaa! I just can't imagine it, least of all in my house. I do remember going to a couple of games in college, but to be honest I was so hammered I might as well have been at the Ice Capades!
