Boo, Shame, Boo!

As reported in the Los Angeles Times, Bob Knoke, of Mission Viejo, Amanda Stanfield, of Monrovia, Jim Domen, of Yorba Linda, and J.D. Gaddis, of Yorba Linda, celebrate returns for Proposition 8 at an Irvine hotel.

Anyone would think he had just won the Smallest Dick In The World contest. Mind you, that would probably be a step up.

I guess California isn't the land of fruits and nuts like it once was. Besides, these people procreate like vermin.

There was an interesting article in the Daily Beast on the main figure behind Prop 8, Howard Ahmanson. Apparently he's an aging trustifarian with Tourette's Syndrome who wants a literal return to levitican law (at least they took out the provision for stoning). Truly an American grotesque.

It's always a treat to see some of the faces behind those news stories, isn't it?
The smallest d**k in the world contest, indeed.

one other thing i heard was the the black church members who turned out in force for obama, voted against the proposition because they're against gay marriage.

Oddly enough so am I, yet I would never want to take away the rights of those who want to make that choice.

It seems an odd thing to celebrate - you would think they were watching a football game; I'm always slightly scared of people who react in this way over the refusal of a human right. I guess being intolerant is a good thing? It seems a strange tale after the wonderful success of the removal of one other form of bigotry, but I suppose that wasn't to universal acclaim.
